Kid (or stupid adult) blabbing his mouth about how the Viper uses a truck motor. I point out it's 5 generations in now with cam in cam phasing and affords low cg and rearward weight bias.

Mistake #1: Commenting on the FP.
Mistake #2: Expecting logic to prevail on the FP.

hmm, have you considered mentioning that his mother has weight issues and is also promiscuous?

Almost no parts were ever interchangeable with the truck motor.

I love that argument. Even though when LAMBORGHINI was done modifying there was almost no truck motor left.

Yep, you and I and most people know this...and the fact the original block casting was done by lamborghini AND was 10 before V10 was cool...but 10 year old logic prevails

To Illustrate CG differences between Pushrod and OHC.
His quote "cam in cam phasing? like the trucks? cool! and no V motor has a low center of gravity.. sure the crank weighs a ton but its an overhead cam motor. this is not a "low" motor, its a tall motor thats mounted really low."
Clearly Drugs.

LA design is truck design. So yeah it's got a truck motor, even if it's basically something entirely different now. But any real enthusiast who isn't an idiot knows it's awesome.

The only thing the LA (Viper) V10 and the Magnum (truck) V10 share is that they were both designed by adding two cylinders to the 5.9 360 CID V8.

I don't see why having a truck motor is that much of a drawback. If it's a good motor, who cares where it's come from?
The Austin Healey 3000 did bloody well with a truck motor, and the Triumph TR2/3/4 was very competitive on the street and especially on the track with an engine shared by a Ferguson tractor...
